"Ethereal, 3-dimensional, abstract chess in parks accompanied by the float of saxophone and drums. Wierd grooves that rock you deep into the sun."
Sungazer's first full release is as impressive as it is sudden. It breaks out with blistering speeds of bass improvisation from Neely, and the drums also accompanying show the raw power the duo hold within seconds. The following tracks roll in a mood of self-expression and presents the mind of jazz in a new light, of which many contemporaries cannot. RoosterJack
Adam Neely and Shawn Crowder reignited my love of jazz as an innovative exploration of music and rhythm.
Because of Sungazer I'm saving up to buy a bass and start playing again. Andrew Morris
The latest from Friederike Bernhardt is an absorbing work of electroacoustic composition, songs rippling like the Northern Lights. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 28, 2022
Most of this album is a collection of clever and catchy musical ideas from the realms of jazz, electronic, and experimental music; but the title track is something else entirely. It's a beautiful work of art with danceable drums and synths establishing a floor for Justice Cow to tell a story about her perspective with her beautiful voice. This is artpop if I have ever heard music that could be described as such. dharmalogos
