about
I made this song as part of Adam Neely's "Happy Phrygian" Challenge!
lyrics
I am happy when the sky is falling
and you let me pick out a sexy coffin
I am happy when i see my shadow
You are happy when you see a rainbow
Tell me do you think I’m cute
When I wipe my butt with poison ivy
and you tell me that you like me
It’s true
I’m confused
The loudest sound I heard is silence
I just can’t stop crying
Tell me do you think its safe
When I bring my cell phone in the shower
Cuz it gives me superpowers
I feel it kicking
Maybe i have telekinesis
I’m too happy for this
Tell me boy, am I still cute?
When I mix my coke with powerviolence
and you tell me to be quiet
No way
I refuse
The sky above my head is falling
And I just can’t stop
Tell me is it way too late
to set all my profiles to private
and decide that I’m a psychic
Oh wait!
I forgot
I've already seen the future
It’s in my computer

"Ethereal, 3-dimensional, abstract chess in parks accompanied by the float of saxophone and drums. Wierd grooves that rock you deep into the sun."
Sungazer's first full release is as impressive as it is sudden. It breaks out with blistering speeds of bass improvisation from Neely, and the drums also accompanying show the raw power the duo hold within seconds. The following tracks roll in a mood of self-expression and presents the mind of jazz in a new light, of which many contemporaries cannot. RoosterJack
Adam Neely and Shawn Crowder reignited my love of jazz as an innovative exploration of music and rhythm.
Because of Sungazer I'm saving up to buy a bass and start playing again. Andrew Morris
Wonderfully absurdist pop songs that manage the tricky balance of humor and hookiness—The Exquisite Corpse as ’60s pop. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 4, 2022
Most of this album is a collection of clever and catchy musical ideas from the realms of jazz, electronic, and experimental music; but the title track is something else entirely. It's a beautiful work of art with danceable drums and synths establishing a floor for Justice Cow to tell a story about her perspective with her beautiful voice. This is artpop if I have ever heard music that could be described as such. dharmalogos
